Hospital Bag Must-Haves (My THIRD Time Around)

I joked on Instagram the other solar day that my hospital purse still isn't 100% ready fifty-fifty though I was due Wednesday.  I approximate that's just how worried you are once yous get to your third pregnancy.

There are a ton of these hospital bag posts out there but being that this is my 3rd time packing one I feel a lilliputian more than knowledgable about what y'all actually Practice and DON'T need. So here's my list of absolute necessities…

Hospital Handbag Essentials

• Nursing Bras – (If you program to nurse of course). These are always my go-to, especially for those kickoff few weeks when you're basically nursing effectually the clock. They're soft, comfortable and tin exist worn through the day and all night. They were the just bras that were comfortable enough for me to wear while sleeping. They provide enough support without any earthworks underwire or side-spillage!
• Button-down pajamas/Robe – I'g personally not a huge fan of robes and then I packed two button-down pajama top/lesser sets. It's easy access for nursing and makes it convenient to encompass upwards quickly if need exist. The quality of these is amazing and they're great whether you're nursing or not.
• Nipple Cream – I will exist downright honest with y'all hither – there is NO CREAM on the market that has ever worked for me. I get a compound cream from the pharmacy that requires a script from a Dr. I personally have the HARDEST time nursing and this cream is the but thing that saves my life. I all the same have some left over from our second and so I'thousand going to bring information technology with me and then become a new script from the Dr. one time baby comes. (I already tried to get information technology and they refused to until they see I need information technology – so stupid if y'all ask me. All they have to do is check my history and come across how badly I need it). So if you start nursing and have pain/discomfort enquire the lactation nurses about this script!!!! (The cream I linked is very pop and does work for some people)
• Boppy – If y'all program on nursing I propose bringing your own boppy. Otherwise yous'll be stuck trying to prop up babe on pillows/blankets for ii days. This one has always been my favorite because you tin easily keep information technology in place with the adjustable buckle.
• Extra long telephone charger – If yous want to have your phone nearby this is a must. The outlets in the infirmary generally aren't shut enough to the bed to be able to attain you lot comfortably. Y'all'll probably accept people calling non-stop and you'll want to exist taking picture subsequently picture and then yous might as well take your phone handy!
• Nipple Pads – I know the disposable ones might sound/seem actually user-friendly but these ones are Then comfortable, especially if you accept corking/bleeding. Plus, they can just be thrown in the wash and used over and over again and then you lot never take to worry near running out.
• Flip flops – At some betoken, you WILL get the opportunity to shower. Unless you like the feeling of your anxiety on the floor of a hospital shower that'south been used by millions, I advise bringing a pair! These ones are super cute and can be worn when it'south time to head domicile, too 🙂
• Baby Take-Habitation Outfit – Since we'll be taking baby home in the dead of summer I packed a uncomplicated onesie and leggings outfit but there are So many cute options out there. If yous know baby'due south name already this set is really beautiful!
• Swaddles – Babies LOVE to be swaddled. It makes them experience like they did in the womb. Our kids never slept without being swaddled. We continued to do it until they could physically become out of it themselves. Getting a few that are nice and tight (aka impossible for infant to become out of) are the mode to become!
• Toiletries/Hair Ties – I know this is a no-brainer but the hospital isn't the place you'll find the all-time shampoo/conditioner for your expensively treated hair 🙂 I suggest packing a toiletry bag with your everyday essentials and DON'T forget hair ties!! You'll have a new baby grabbing onto whatever and everything. The concluding thing you want to be dealing with is your hair in the way! I LOVE Love Beloved the toiletry bag pictured higher up! It has enough pockets for everything and even hooks onto the back of a door. There isn't exactly a lot of counter space in the hospital!
• Camera/Charger – Unless you're only taking pics with your telephone I suggest packing your camera along with any necessary chargers/accessories! Although it's overnice to have the convenience of the phone the quality of camera pictures is just so much meliorate!

While this definitely isn't an essential I did purchase one extra particular this time around. This gown ( you can see it pictured to a higher place) for delivery seemed like it might be really convenient for nursing in those first few hours later baby is born. It likewise seems like information technology might be more comfortable than the hospital gowns that are constantly showing your barrel-crack to the world every time you stand up 🙂 Always a plus, right?!

Some people might mention comfortable underwear but honestly… I similar the hideous granny panties they provide you with at the hospital.  There is nothing better in those first few days! They also requite you the extra long pads so no demand to worry about those either! Just to requite y'all an idea – THIS is exactly what y'all'll be wearing immediately after infant's inflow 🙂

I'll admit I'm an over-packer because I'd rather be over-prepared than under-prepared. But now that I've already done this twice I don't want actress stuff to worry about while we're there, which is why my list is pretty short!
